David was the son of Marcus Lafayette Posey and Emma Louise Smith. Ethel was the daughter of David Henry Gage and Sarah Rebecca Nancy Isabella Frizzell.

Parker’s paternal grandmother was Nautis Magdalene “Naudie” Van Veckhoven/VanVeckhoven (the daughter of Albert Van Veckhoven/VanVeckhoven and Mary Eulalie DeLatin). Nautis was born in Louisiana. Albert was the son of Charles L. Van Veckhoven/VanVeckhoven, who was from Antwerp, Belgium, and of an American mother who was surnamed Mathews/Matthews.
