Tommy Lee Jones is an American actor, director, and filmmaker. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for The Fugitive (1993).

Tommy is the son of Lucille Marie (Scott) and Clyde C. Jones. He is married to Dawn Laurel. He has two children with his former wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. All of his recent ancestors were Southerners. Many of his ancestral lines lead to England, and a smaller amount were Scots-Irish/Northern Irish and Scottish. He also has remote Dutch roots.

Tommy has stated that one of his grandmothers was of Cherokee Native American ancestry. He has referred to himself as a “little Indian boy.” One of Tommy’s paternal great-great-grandmothers, Harriet Jane Walls, was said to be the daughter of a Native American woman named Nicameah. It is not clear if this is accurate, or if Tommy has any verified/documented Native American ancestry. All of Tommy’s grandparents and great-grandparents are listed as “White” on United States Censuses.

Tommy’s paternal grandfather was Thomas/Tom Ransom Columbus Jones (the son of James Henry Jones and Frances Jane Taylor). Thomas was born in Mississippi. James was the son of Norman N. Jones and Susan Arminda Reeves. Frances was the daughter of Absolum Taylor and Elizabeth Ryan.

Tommy’s paternal grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Nash (the daughter of Columbus Franklin Nash and Mary Jane Green). Tommy’s grandmother Mary Elizabeth was born in Texas. Columbus was the son of Franklin William/Wiley Nash and Rebecca Jane Raby. Tommy’s great-grandmother Mary Jane was the daughter of Elijah Henry Green and Harriet/Harriett Jane Walls.

Tommy’s maternal grandfather was Archie Lee Scott (the son of John Nathaniel Scott and Linnie Malinda Martin). Archie was born in Texas. John was the son of Samuel Nathaniel Scott and Sarah Eliza Garner. Linnie was the daughter of James Samuel Martin and Anda Cal Barnett.

Tommy’s maternal grandmother was Lillian Beatrice Bradshaw (the daughter of Needham Jessie Bradshaw and Almeda Modella “Media” Fleming). Lillian was born in Texas. Almeda was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Fleming and Adaline F. “Addie” Scarborough.
