Molly Sullivan Sliney is a former American silver foil shooter who is currently a speaker and fencing instructor. Sliney was a member of the US Olympic fencing team in 1988 and 1992. She also won two gold medals at the Pan American Games in 1987 and 1991. In fencing for the University of Notre Dame, she was the NCAA Women's Private Monetization Champion in 1986 and 1988. At that time, she was enrolled in the Guinness Book of World Records for having won two NCAA Personal World Records. Sliney was also the National Champion of the United States in 1985. In 1987, she led the women's team Notre Dame to win the NCAA championship with a 10-0 record in the tournament. This is the first time Fighting Irish has won the NCAA female title in any sport. She graduated with a 160-14 record, and Notre Dame was named her 1980 female athlete. Since her retirement in 1992, Sliney has been an active fencing speaker and coach.
