Joel David Moore is an American actor and director. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Moore studied theater at college before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film. His first leading role was Owen Dittman in the 2004 comedy DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story, followed by roles in the comedy Grandma's Boy, Terry Zwigoff's Art School Confidential, and the independent film Hatchet. In 2008, he was cast as Colin Fisher in the Fox's Bones series, a cameo he played for sixteen episodes until the show ended in 2017. In 2009, he was cast as Yours. Norm Spellman in James Cameron's Avatar, a role he will play in the film's sequels, Avatar 2 and Avatar 3. Moore has also appeared in several music videos and directed the series. Film: His directorial debut was the psychological thriller Spiral, followed by the dramas Youth in Oregon and Killing Winston Jones.
