American actor, best remembered for roles in Friendly Persuasion, Fear Strikes Out, The Tin Star, On the Beach, Psycho, The Trial, Catch-22, Pretty Poison, Murder on the Orient Express, The Black Hole and Crimes of Passion. He said in a 1958 Newsweek interview, "I'm 6-foot-2 and a half".
