Nikhil Upreti or Nikhil Uprety is a Nepalese actor, director, producer and boxer. His first film was Pinjada, released in 2000, in which he jumped from the seven-story Kantipur publication building in Kathmandu, Nepal without any protective measures or body. He has appeared in over 200 films, winning the Best Actor at the National Films Award for Hami Tin Bhai. He received the Rastriya Nagarik Swarna Samman Award in 2006. Upreti is famous for its own waterfalls. Some of his top grossing films are Pinjada, Nikhil Dai, Hami Tin Bhai, Dhadkan, Bhairav, and Lootera. After years in Mumbai he was to direct and star in a Hindi film called Commitment. He returned to the Nepalese film industry with the film 'Bhairav' in 2015.

Before the age of 50, he had appeared in almost 110 films. For his performance in Haami Tin Bhai, he received a National Films Award for Best Actor.
